Non Resident Alien

This is a chronicle of my tragi-comic life as a foreigner in the United States. My official status when I started school in 2004, was that of a Non-Resident-Alien and that's where the title of the blog is from. My status has changed to Resident Alien since then. My personal experiences are a unique roller coaster mundane everyday experiences for locals, but unique from the eyes of a foreigner. I started this blog to share some of my experiences beginning my third year living in this country.

Busy start to the Academic Year

I am back in Fairfax and it has been a busy two weeks. So busy that I even forgot mom's birthday. This would be the first year I have forgotten her birthday in at least two decades. I am back as an RA and it has been busy with training schedules and work schedules. This is my first breather since I came back from India and I am glad to have two quiet hours away from work. School stuff has suffered a bit the last month but I am pretty sure I can get back on track quickly. Its surprising how fast time has flown this past three years and especially this last three months in India. As usual, you never have enough time at home and I wish I had had more time with mom dad and my brother. But then again I do want to finish soon and get a real world job like normal people. I have been in school so long that I am ready to leave the dorms and campus and start living in an actual house. There is much to do this year if I am to graduate end of this year and I am excited about it.
My RA staff is wonderful and I cannot wait to see and participate in the programs they design. They are a very creative bunch and I am excited about working with them. I am very happy to be working with my RD and AC. I am really grateful that our AC decided to stay and work with us some more. It looks like a very busy and wonderful year and I am all geared up.
